NerdyElectronics is a personal project run by Vivek Bhageria in Bengaluru, India. It is not a company. This page explains what the site collects when you read it, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version: we count visits to see which tutorials get read. We show no ads and sell nothing about you. We don’t run a mailing list.

What we collect when you read the site

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages get read, how far people scroll, and which links they click (for example, to the Udemy course or YouTube). Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses, and we send it no names or email addresses. It tells browsers apart with a random ID stored in a cookie, so we can tell new visitors from returning ones. It never tells us who you are.

  • If you are in the EU, EEA, UK or Switzerland, analytics is off until you choose. A small banner asks whether we may count your visit. Until you click “Allow”, no analytics cookies are set, and Google receives only cookieless signals (for example, that a page was viewed) with no ID that links one visit to the next.
  • Everywhere else, analytics is on by default. You can turn it off at any time with Privacy choices, also in the footer of every page.
  • Google’s advertising features are switched off for everyone, whatever you choose.

Google keeps visit-level data for 2 months, and data linked to a browser’s random ID for 14 months, restarting the count whenever that browser comes back. Totals that identify no one, such as page views per day, are kept longer. You can also block Google Analytics on every site with Google’s opt-out add-on.

Delivery and security (Cloudflare)

The site is served through Cloudflare, which handles every request, including your IP address, to deliver pages quickly and block attacks. Cloudflare also tells your browser which country it is in. We use that country code only to decide whether to show the analytics banner. It is kept in your browser for the current session and is not sent to us.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page loads and measures how fast pages load. Cloudflare says it uses no cookies or local storage and does not identify individual visitors.

Comments

If you leave a comment, WordPress stores what you type plus your name, email address, website (optional), IP address and browser type. Comments are held for moderation before they appear. Your email address is never shown publicly.

  • Spam filtering: comments are checked by Akismet (Automattic), which receives the comment along with your name, email, IP address and browser details. See Automattic’s privacy notice.
  • Bot check: the comment form and the login page use Cloudflare Turnstile, which looks at technical signals from your browser to tell people from bots. On posts it loads only when you start using the comment form. Cloudflare says Turnstile data is not used for advertising.
  • Avatars: the picture next to each comment comes from Gravatar (Automattic), which is sent a scrambled hash of the commenter’s email address. Your browser loads these images from Gravatar’s servers.

Comments and their details are kept as long as the comment is on the site. Ask us and we will delete yours.

Contacting us

The contact link opens a Google Form, so what you send is handled by Google under Google’s privacy policy. We use it only to reply to you.

Embedded videos and outbound links

Some tutorials embed YouTube videos. When the player loads, YouTube (Google) may set its own cookies. Links to the Udemy course, YouTube and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

What we don’t do

  • No advertising, and no ad networks.
  • We don’t sell, rent or trade information about readers.
  • No mailing list. We don’t collect email addresses except in comments.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, withdraw consent, or complain to your data protection authority. To change your analytics choice, use Privacy choices. For anything else, use the Data Subject Access Request form (handled by Termly) or the contact form. We’ll reply within one month.

Changes

If what the site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top says when.
